Dear Family and Friends,
This past week has flown by, I can't believe it's Monday again and I'm sitting here writing home already.
Last Monday was really awesome. We got to go to the open house with Linda, and she loved it. She definitely felt the spirit and especially loved the sealing room. It was awesome to get to go through with her.
And then that night we have a lesson with Devon, who's getting baptized on March 8. We had one of the kids from his primary class and his mom come with us, which was awesome. And he seemed to understand the lesson pretty well. And then we met with Hope, and that was really great too. She sent us home with some lasagna and we bought some girl scout cookies from her daughter. Thin mints are my favorite, so that was awesome.
Tuesday was another great day. We got to teach a lesson to one of our member's best friends. She doesn't live in our ward, or even our mission, but she wanted to meet with sisters at least at first, so we got to teach her the first lesson. And she's golden. She LOVED the temple and was so excited to learn more. She understood everything we taught her and agreed to be baptized. It was such an awesome lesson. I'm so excited for her! I wish we could keep teaching her, but I know that her missionaries will be great. I just hope we get to go to her baptism.
Wednesday we had our last temple shift, and that was quite sad. I wanted to stay and work longer. There were a lot of really nice people and we got a lot of great questions that day. I'm excited to hear what the official count was for the number of people that went through the open house.
Thursday we had zone conference and that was a lot of fun too. It was with 3 zones and there were about 40 missionaries there. But the crazy thing is that when I first got here, it was only 1 zone and there were only 16 of us. Our mission is growing like crazy! And it's just going to keep growing. I'm excited to see what happens. The zone conference was a lot of fun. We learned a lot and I'm excited to use what I learned in these wards. We also found out that our mission president's picture was in the flip charts that the missionaries used to use. And our zone leader had a picture and showed it to us, and sure enough, there he was. It was really funny.
Friday we had another lesson with Devon, which went pretty well again. He seems to be really excited to be baptized. It's so amazing to get to help people prepare to be baptized and come closer to Christ.
Saturday was a lot of fun. It was super nice out, in the 80s, so we decided to ride our bikes, and that was a ton of fun. I even got some new tan lines! Haha. I really enjoyed it, but my butt was a little sore since I haven't ridden in awhile. We're planning on riding more often, especially before it gets too hot to enjoy it.
And then Sunday was a pretty normal day. We went to church and I learned a lot. We taught gospel principles in one of the wards, which went pretty well. I think. And then that night, when we were coming in for the night, I met someone from Knoxville! We got new neighbors about 2 weeks ago, but we'd never officially met them. But we pulled up at the same time as them last night and he had a Tennessee shirt on, so I asked if he was a TN fan. And he said he's from Tennessee. So naturally I freaked out and told him I am too and asked what part. So yeah, that was exciting. It's not very often that you meet someone who knows where Morristown is. Haha. I didn't get to meet his wife, but she's also from Tennessee and I'm excited to talk to her too. That was probably the highlight of my day. haha.
And that was pretty much my week. It was nice and busy and I really enjoyed it. I'm excited to see how next week goes. I think it'll be just as great as this week was. I hope you all have a great week too! I love and miss you all!
Love Always,
