Dear Family and Friends,
Well, here we are, another Monday emailing at the library. I can't believe another week has come and gone. Time is flying by. We got transfer calls today-they were kind of delayed this time because apparently there are a ton of changes taking place. Transfer meeting should be interesting. But I'm staying in the same area with Sister Bateman for another transfer. I'm excited about it. I've grown to love the area and I hope to stay for awhile.
Last week was a pretty good week. We ended up having a lot of meetings, which was pretty crazy. But I had a lot of fun and learned a lot.
Last Monday we did a zone activity and went to a small pond (which they call a lake here in Arizona) to go fishing. And, I even caught 2 fish. Unfortunately, I couldn't get them completely up before the line broke, so I don't have any pictures for proof. You'll just have to take my word for it. Haha. But who knows? Maybe we'll go again sometime and I'll get pictures then.
We had exchanges on Tuesday to Wednesday, which was pretty fun. I went with Sister Kratzer into her area. We got to teach a few really great lessons and I met their recent convert who was hilarious.
Wednesday our zone had Family Home Afternoon at the Esplins. Elder and Sister Esplin are a senior couple in the mission that live really close to my last area. It was so much fun. We played charades and had a spiritual thought. We also got a great snack. I had a lot of fun. And President Nattress wants us to do it once a transfer, so we'll get to go again! Haha.
Thursday Sister Bateman was sick, and so was another sister in our zone, so I had exchanges that day. We had a lot of fun. We visited a lot of people and taught some great lessons. And then that night we had an expanded zone conference that all members were invited to. We had a lot of members show up, and they all seemed to really enjoy it. It was focused on missionary work and how to invite our friends and neighbors to learn more about the church without making it uncomfortable or awkward.
Friday and Saturday Sister Bateman wasn't feeling well again, so we ended up inside a lot.
And then on Sunday we had church. But after about 4 hours, Sister Bateman was feeling sick again so we went home. And I have to say, it is not fun when your companion is sick. There's nothing to do! haha. You can only study for so long before you go insane. And you can only watch the proselyting videos so many times. haha. But it's ok. I survived just fine. And, Sister Bateman's doing better now, and that's great.
And that was pretty much my week. Nothing too exciting, but I had a good time. I'm excited for this new transfer. There's so much potential and I know it's going to be great. We're going to work hard and find people to teach.
I really love being a missionary in Gilbert Arizona. I feel like I have learned so much and strengthened my relationship with Jesus Christ immensely. I know I have so much more to learn and I'm just trying to be humble enough to learn it. I am so grateful for my Savior and His infinite atoning sacrifice. I know that because of Him, we can all find true and lasting happiness. I'm so grateful for Joseph Smith and the role he played in helping restore that truth to the earth again. And I'm grateful for a living prophet who still directs the church today. I know that this is the Church of Jesus Christ on the earth again today and I am so grateful I have the chance to share it with others.
I hope you all are doing well and enjoying the last few weeks of school before summer break starts. I love and miss you all!
Love Always,
Baylee
