Stake Conference and Another Hike

Dear Family and Friends,

Last week was a week full of miracles. Every week is full of them really, but this week was especially full of them.

Last Monday we met with a less active couple that are super awesome, the B's. We're teaching them the lessons since they're coming back to church. They entertain for a living. During the summer months they entertain on cruise ships, and they've been like everywhere! And then during the winter they do things locally. They're super nice and really excited to be coming back. They want to get sealed in the temple, so they have a great goal in mind. I'm excited that we get to help them come back.

We also met with a super nice lady, T, who moved into the area not too long ago. Her husband is a member and she is not, but she has met with the missionaries before. We were having a hard time getting ahold of her, but on Monday she texted us and asked to meet again. She has been going through a lot and recognizes that she needs God as a bigger part of her life. She has a lot of potential and we're excited to see how she continues to progress.

Tuesday we had a good day as well. We met with several of the members to teach them and get to know their famililes better. We were also invited to a family's house for dessert. They had a nonmember friend over and are trying to talk to her about the gospl. So we went and ate and got to know her a little bit. And then we left with a little spiritual message. I was super nervous about it because I didn't want to mess up, but it went pretty well. I didn't know exactly what to say, but Heavenly Father knew what she needed to hear, and I did my best to follow the spirit in what I said. It was a pretty cool experience.

Wednesday we met with our recent convert and we were able to take a member with us. We talked about the importance of reading The Book of Mormon and how it can help us out everyday. The lesson went really well and she's progressing well too. We're excited to keep meeting with her.

Thursday we met with the B's again. It was super awesome. They're seriously the coolest couple ever! My new goal is to go on a cruise they're entertaining on. Haha. It would be so much fun! We taught them the Restoration and before we left they sang a song for us. They were really good. We told them now they have to sing for us every time we come back. Haha.

And then we met with T again. She's been looking up verses in The Book of Mormon and talking about them with a member she works with. She really wants to make a change in her life and is excited to have us come back.

Saturday was super fun because we had stake conference. Elder Martino, of the 70, came for it. He is a super awesome speaker. President Nattress also came to speak at it since the them was The Work of Salvation. They talked all about missionary work and what we can do as members and missionaries to help it progress. It was seriously one of the coolest meetings I've been to. And then our district leader got permission for us to go out for ice cream after the meeting even though it was already after curfew. Basically, I have the coolest mission president ever. Haha.

Sunday was good too. We had another session of stake conference, which was super inspiring. And that night we were able to teach a lesson to one of the young men who is preparing for his mission and his nonmember friend. It went really well.

And then last night we (me and my roommates) decided to drag our mattresses out to the living room and have a giant sleep over. We watched The Testaments and talked a lot and might have stayed up way past bed time. But it was a lot of fun.

And then this morning we went on another sunrise hike. It was just as fun as the last time, and this time I didn't even get a blister! Haha. It was also way colder though, which wasn't so fun.

Anyways, that was basically my week. I hope you all had a great week as well and enjoy Halloween this week. I love and miss you all and would love to hear from you!

Love always,

Baylee

The pics are of our sleepover, my roommates on the hike, and the sunrise, and our group on the hike.
