June 2

Dear Family and Friends,

Well it was a great past week, but things are definitely starting to warm up down here. Summer will be interesting because everyone leaves to escape the heat. So July will be kind of like a ghost town. It'll be an interesting experience for sure.

Last week was pretty busy and we had a pretty amazing miracle. But before I tell you about that I'll talk about the rest of my week.

On Wednesday we had family home afternoon with the Esplins, a Senior couple in the mission. They live right by my old area, and I was so tempted to go visit, but I resisted. haha. It was really fun though. We had a nice spiritual thought and then we played some games. One of them involved water and I got splashed in the face. It was fun though, and since it's so hot I didn't mind too much.

We also had stake conference this weekend, which was pretty great. The Saturday night session was all about "Hastening the Work" so it was all about missionary work, temple work, and family history. It was a great meeting. They had a recent convert to the church speak, and he had a really neat story. We also had President Wilkinson, who is in our mission presidency speak-he's also a great speaker and was inspiring.

And now for the amazing miracle. Our investigator Michelle. We met with her again on Tuesday and she's been so great studying and learning about the church. We went planning to teach her the Plan of Salvation, but instead we answered 4 questions for her, and then she told us that she wants to get baptized! It was so incredible! She's so excited and so ready for it. And the ward has been great in helping her feel welcome. So we set up a lesson for the next night so we could finish teaching her everything, and when we went back she had already studied all the lessons. So we were pretty stunned by that. We reviewed some of the material with her and then helped get her baptism planned. We're going to the visitors center with her this week too, which will be great. And she's getting baptized on Saturday! So we're pretty excited. It's been amazing to see her progress. She really loves the gospel and you can see how much it means to her. Her face and her eyes light up when she talks about it, and I love being able to help her learn about it. This is why I came on a mission-to help others feel the joy of the gospel.

And other than that, we had a pretty average week. Working hard, talking to people, trying to find new people to teach, and doing other missionary stuff. I love being out here, even with the extreme heat. And the crazy thing is that on Thursday I hit my year mark! It just doesn't seem possible that the time has passed that quickly.

Well, I hope all is well back home and that things are going great. I love and miss you all!

Love Always,
Baylee

Here are some pictures from the Gilbert temple last week

So one of these is from out pday activity last week, dodgeball/nerf gun war-it was a lot more fun than it sounds.

And the other one is from a few weeks ago when Elder Lee had to borrow my bike because his tire broke on a Saturdaynight. haha.
