Transfer 3

Dear family and friends,

As usual it has been a super crazy week, although this one was ever more so with transfers happening. But it was also a really cool week.

Tuesday we had transfer meeting, which everyone went to. I'm not sure how many new missionaries we got, but we got 7 more sisters. We also had about 10 or so elders leave. The meeting was fun. I got to see everyone and some cool things happened. We got two new zones, so now we have 9 in our mission. We also got 9 new zone leaders, which means every zone has a brand new zone leader. It's kind of crazy. My zone got a little bit switched up and now we have 3 sets of sisters. We also have 2 brand new district leaders, and my old district leader is now one of my zone leaders. There's a lot of change happening, but it's cool to see the work progressing in this mission.

Wednesday we had our first meeting as a new zone. It was weird to have different zone leaders and more sisters, but I really like our zone so far. We went to lunch with another set of sisters after the meeting and a super nice member paid for our food. We also ran into some people from one of our wards which was fun.

Thursday was pretty cool too. To motivate us to talk to everyone, our district leader came up with a prize for the companionship that had the most street contacts by the end of the day. Sister Kratzer and I were able to talk to 21 people! That was really cool because that's the most we've ever talked to in one day before. We won the competition, but we haven't gotten our prize yet. I'll send a picture next week after we get it. Haha.

And then Friday we had our weekly planning and a new missionary meeting. The new missionary meeting is for everyone that has finished their 1st or 2nd transfer, so I had to go to that. Basically all that happens is that the APs do some training and President Nattress talks to us. But it's a really cool meeting and I learn a lot. We also found out that Elder Neil L. Anderson is going to come to our mission on September 7! (For those of you who don't know, he is one of the 12 apostles of our church. He helps lead the church, and it's really cool when we get the chance to hear from any of them). We're going to get a big group picture and we'll all get to meet him and shake his hand. It's really cool too because he's not even going to be in this area, he just want to come visit the Gilbert Mission. I'm super excited to see what he has to tell us and what I'll learn from him.

Saturday night we went to the ward talent show for one of our wards, which was super fun. There were several nonmembers there and one of them wants a Book of Mormon now, which is so cool! We also had some less active members come, which was so great. We helped serve the food and got to visit with lots of people. I'd forgotten how fun ward activities are. Haha. Although going as a missionary is a different experience.

Also, I don't remember which day, but one night our air conditioning broke. Not the most fun thing when it's like 100 degrees outside. It was a miserable night. When the guy came to fix it the next day he said the goats chewed through it and messed it up. I seriously hate those goats! Haha.

Anyways, that's been my week. It's been super busy and fun. I love that I'm still in this area and in these wards. I love this gospel and how much happiness it brings me. I know the Book of Mormon is the word of God and that Thomas S. Monson is the prophet today that leads The restored Church of Jesus Christ on the earth today.

I hope you all have a great week. I love and miss you all!

Love always,

Baylee
