Temple Trip

Dear family and friends,

Well, it's been another crazy week. It's crazy how quickly time passes out here. Someone told me that on your mission the days feel like weeks and the weeks feel like days-that is definitely true.

Last Monday we had another district barbeque. This time the whole district was there though, plus our zone leaders. It was fun. We ate and played Monopoly Deal, which is a game I've really grown to dislike. Probably because I usually lose. Haha. But I still had fun and it really is nice to do something besides write letters and nap on P-day.

On Tuesday we had a zone meeting which was really fun. We were talking about how finding new investigators isn't always easy and often takes a lot of effort on our part. We did a zone scavenger hunt with various activities as part of an object lesson. We took pictures of the various things we had to do, and we used my camera, so I'll try to send a few of those. It was a really fun activity and definitely something I'll remember for awhile.

Wednesday we got to go to the Mesa temple. We have to go to the 7:30 session, so we left at like 6:30. I was not excited about getting up early, but it was definitely worth it. There were a ton of missionaries there, which was cool. And the temple is so amazing! I'm so excited for the Gilbert one to get finished, but I have no idea when that will be. I am really grateful to be close enough to the temple to get to go pretty often. We get to go once a transfer, so once every 6 weeks. The members that gave us a ride were from our roommates' ward. They drove all four of us and then took us to their house to make us waffles for an early lunch. The members out here take such great care of us, I'm so grateful for them.

Saturday we got to do some service for a part member family that is moving to another ward. We also got to meet the new Ward Mission Leader for one of our wards. I kind of feel bad for him since he just got called and is trying to get used to everything and transfers are next week. We're pretty sure one of us will stay here, but it's possible they could take us both out, so who knows? (I'll find out on Sunday if i'm being transfered or not, so if you write letters to me before then, send them to the mission office address, which i'll give you at the end of this email.) I'm excited about transfers, but also nervous. I have no idea where I'll end up, which is somewhat stressful. But I've still got at least a week here to work hard.

The only other update I have is about Rayven. We were finally able to get back in with her for another lesson last week. She's been doing some of her own research about the church and had some misconceptions that we were able to clear up. She seems to really want to learn and we're excited to keep teaching her. It's just hard to set up appointments with her life being so busy.

And that was pretty much my week. I can't believe I've been out here for 2 months already. The time is flying by. I love every second of it though. I love this gospel and am so grateful to be in Arizona teaching people about how they can come closer to Christ. I love the Book of Mormon and how much I learn when I read it and I'm so grateful to have a living prophet to lead and guide the church today. I get to spend all day everyday, talking to people about how much the gospel has blessed my life how cool is that?!

Anyways, I love and miss you all and hope all is well.

Love always,

Baylee

These are some pictures from the scavenger hunt. We had to do the hokey pokey. And we had to sing Book of Mormon stories, which was quite entertaining because none of the elders knew the hand motions and had to watch me and sister Kratzer to figure them out. Also, in the last one we were imitating the picture you see in the background.

These are pictures from the trip to the Mesa, Arizona temple.
