Dear family and friends,
Wow, I can't believe it's already been a week since I emailed last. The weeks just fly by here. We already have transfers coming up again in 2 weeks! We're only getting 7 new sisters this time, but everyone keeps telling me I'm going to end up training. We'll see I guess. Whatever happens is what the Lord wants to happen and I trust Him.
Last Monday was a pretty fun P-day. We had a district barbeque, but it only ended up being half the district plus our zone leaders. We were at two of the elders' house and stayed in the garage with the door open the whole time since Sister Kratzer and I aren't allowed in their house. We ate and played Monopoly Deal for a few hours. It was pretty hot, but really fun to actually do something other than sleep on P-day. We're supposed to have a legit district barbeque today, so I'll let you know next week how that goes.
Wednesday was a pretty cool day too. We were supposed to go to the temple, but Sister Kratzer got sick so we didn't get to go. We stayed inside all morning and then when our roommates got home we discovered that Sister Anderson was feeling sick too. So we got special permission from the APs for Sister Bennett and I to go and cover both of our areas for the rest of the day. It was a really cool experience. I got to drive the brand new 2014 Chevy Cruze, which was awesome. And it was good for both of us to experience being out without our Senior Companions. We talked to a lot of people and set up a few return appointments as well, so it was a great day.
Thursday we had a meeting with one of our bishops, and the relief society was having a clothing exchange so we went to see if we could help clean up after the meeting. They ended up giving us some of the clothes, so I got a new dress and 2 new skirts. That was great because you get tired of your clothes really fast out here. I seriously love the members here.
And then on Saturday we had exchanges with Sister Caldwell, one of the Sister Training Leaders. She came to our area for the day. We got to do some service for a part member family and talked to a few different people. I learned a lot from her and we had a lot of fun. That night we had Salmon for dinner, which was quite interesting considering I hate seafood. I managed to eat a few bites, but it was not fun. The rest of the meal was good though, so that was nice. And we also got to talk to the nonmember 19 year old grandson of the member we ate with. That was really cool. He's not ready to start taking the discussions yet, but his grandma told us that he connected with us in a way that he never has with misionaries in the past. We're hoping that as we continue to get to know him, he'll eventually become more curious about the church.
And that's been my week. Nothing super exciting, but it's still tons of fun to be out here. I love being a missionary and sharing the gospel everyday. I love being here and can't imagine being anywhere else. I love and miss you all and hope all is well!
Love Always,
Baylee
P.S. I also saw my first scorpian this week. Luckily it was almost dead so it wasn't too scary. Haha.
