Dear Family and Friends,
I can't believe it's already been a week and I'm sitting here in the library writing you again. The time seems to fly by. It's already time for general conference next weekend, and it feels like we just barely had it. But it's been great and I've really loved it.
This past week was a great week, but nothing super crazy happened.
On Tuesday night we went to a relief society activity for one of our wards and helped with a service project. We got some new clothes too, which was great (they were going to send them to goodwill, so we took some. Haha.) And I even got a super cut pair of black sequin vans. So I'm super excited about those. I won't be able to wear them much on my mission, but I'll wear them every P-day. And once I get home. Haha.
On Wednesday we got to go to a primary activity in one of the wards which was a lot of fun. And then we went to mutual that night. We're really focused on trying to get to know the members in this area, especially the youth. We know that the best way to find people to teach is through the members here and them inviting friends and neighbors to learn more. It's crazy because this area is about the same size as my last (just bigger than 1 square mile) but it has 3 wards instead of 2. It's definitely a little bit harder trying to get to know everyone, but all the members are super awesome and definitely want to do missionary work. Now we just have to figure out how we can help them. It's different than my last area was, but I'm excited to see all that I can learn as i continue to work hard.
On Thursday we got to teach Krystal, she's a nonmember who is taking the lessons, but she doesn't live in our area. However, she wanted to be taught by sisters, so she's coming to her in-laws house so we can teach her. And it's been so great to teach her so far. She went to the temple open house and loved it-and decided to learn more. She loves our lessons and everything she's learned. And I've loved getting to know her and see how excited she is. I love being able to share the gospel, something that has brought me so much happiness, with others. It is such a great blessing.
Friday we had weekly planning, not my favorite time, but we managed to stay focused and made some good plans. And then that night we went to yet another ward activity, which was super fun. It's definitely helpful to get to know people that way.
Saturday we visited our bishops and ward mission leaders to talk about how we can help with missionary work in the area, and the best way for us to work with them to accomplish their goals. It was really helpful and made me excited to see what will happen in the next few months in this area. And then that night we had the women's conference, which was amazing. I love any chance that we have to hear from inspired speakers that have been called of God. And it was amazing to think that there were millions of women around the world watching it too. I am so excited for conference next weekend!
And then yesterday we had church-from 8 AM to 5 PM. It was great. I learned a lot and enjoyed all the speakers and lessons. It was freezing inside the church buildings though. It's starting to get warm outside again, so they crank up the AC inside. The buildings here are always coldest in the summer. haha.
And then this morning for P-day, we went bowling with our zone. It's the first time I've been in years, so that was kind of interesting. It was pretty fun, but I'm not very good, so it was also kinda rough. Haha. But it was fun to do something different.
So yeah, that was my week. And this next week will be great as well I'm sure. I'm so excited for next weekend especially, when we have the chance to hear from a living prophet and apostles of the Lord. I feel so blessed to know that God still speaks to us today, and that as we listen to the words of the President Monson and other church leaders we can find true and lasting happiness. I love this gospel and I am so grateful for the chance I have to share it with the amazing people of Arizona.
I hope you all have a wonderful week!
Love Always,
Baylee
