Dear Family and Friends,
Well this has been a pretty good week. Except it's starting to get pretty cold. It's been in the 50s during the day and the 30s at night. It's not the greatest. But at least we don't have snow, so I really shouldn't complain.
Tuesday we had district meeting, which was really great. And then afterwards we got a Christmas tree for our house! Some of the elders in our zone had 3 trees and they offered to let us borrow one, so we picked it up and now it's in our house. It was pre lit and pre decorated too, which was nice.
We went to the Mesa temple this week on Wednesday. It was a lot of fun. I love going to the temple, it's such an amazing place. And I'm so excited for the Gilbert one to open up. It's going to be gorgeous and a little bit closer.
That night we met with our investigator Bethany, who is so amazing. When we met with her before we were talking about nail polish and painting our nails, so she brought all of her nail polish for us to use while we taught her. So we taught her The Gospel of Jesus Christ while painting our nails. It was a lot of fun. And she said it's been her favorite lesson so far. Haha.
Thursday we had zone conference which was pretty great. We talked about the temple open house and did a bunch of role playing activities. We also talked about our mission Christmas party and the policy for Christmas day and Christmas eve. We're going to go to the temple as a mission on the 19th, which will be really cool, and then do a bunch of activities and eat. It'll be fun. Haha.
Thursday night one of our wards had a progressive dinner which we were invited to. It was a lot of fun and the food was really good. And it was really convenient because the houses were all in a row. One of the perks of being in a mission highly populated with members.
Friday we had to go get our car looked at since it's been making some super weird noises. We ended up being there for 3 hours, and literally nothing was wrong. It was not very fun considering we couldn't watch tv or look at the magazines. Luckily we had our scriptures and Preach My Gospel. Haha. We also had one of the workers come up and talk to us before. He asked about our tags and we told him we were missionaries and we teach people about Jesus Christ. He told us that he could tell we were different because we looked really happy and our faces were bright. It was a really cool compliment. It was the light of Christ shining through us, and the really neat thing is that we can all have that happen.
Saturday we went on exchanges, except it was actually just a trio. Sister Caldwell came into our area for the day. She goes home next week, which is sad. I'll miss her a lot, but I was glad we got to spend the day with her. It was a lot of fun. We talked to a lot of people about the temple open house and the Christmas lights at the Mesa temple.
Sunday was a pretty normal Sunday. We taught the Laurels in one of our wards, which was a lot of fun. We talked about Standing as a Witness of God, and I think (and hope) they enjoyed it. For dinner that night our whole district had dinner with our stake high councilman over missionary work. It was a lot of fun and really good. There were 10 of us plus his family. And he said he wants to start doing it once a month, so that'll be fun. And then we watched the Christmas Devotional with Bethany.
And that was pretty much my week. We get transfer calls next Sunday, so I'll let you know next week if I'm staying or leaving. But in the meantime, if you have any mail to send, send it to the mission office for now.
I hope you all have a great week!
Love always,
Baylee
